The Astros Nike Jr. RBI League is set to begin the week of March 30, 2026 and conclude on May 1, 2026. The FREE league is a baseball/softball league for boys and girls ages 7-14 at the Houston Astros Youth Academy (AYA) located at Sylvester Turner Park. The league will be directed by the Houston Astros AYA Staff.  Please use the attached link to register for the league.

Parents who are interested in volunteer coaching please download the attached Volunteer Application form and e-mail it to: aya@astros.com. Volunteer coaches will be subject to a background check and drug screening by the Houston Astros before being allowed to coach. Volunteer Forms must be submitted by March 9, 2026.

Players that are 7 years of age by May 1, 2026 or that turn 14 years of age prior to December 31, 2026 are eligible to participate.

All games played at the Astros Youth Academy weeknights (Monday - Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. Each division will play 2 games each week.

All players will be placed in divisions based on both age and evaluated skill level by AYA Staff. All players will make a team there are NO CUTS. 

Each player MUST attend the evaluation date listed below by current age.

Once all evaluations are complete, the AYA Staff will place all players that signed up for the league into divisions and on teams. All games will be played weeknights at the Astros Youth Academy (Monday-Thursday). Each division and team will play 2 nights per week. Players will play on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday based on division. There will be 4 teams in each division. Parents will be e-mailed on Saturday, March 28 at 5:00 pm with player division, schedule and additional league information.

Game Day: Your child's team color and coach will be assigned to you on the 1st game when you check-in and players will receive uniform jersey and hat on the 1st game that they attend. There will be no practice before the 1st game. Team practices following the start of the league will be held on Saturdays. There will be no practice on Monday-Thursday due to ALL fields being in use during the week for the Astros Nike Jr. RBI League games. Practice times will be determined by coaches but will be between the hours of 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturdays.

Game attire: Players can wear any color baseball/softball pants (white, gray, black or navy) and any color socks or belt (navy/black preferred) for the league. Players need to bring all equipment to the game...glove, baseball cleats, etc.. For those who do not have a bat or helmet that equipment will be provided to each player to use during games and practice.

Hydration: There will be no water provided for players. Please bring at least 2-4 bottles of water or water jug enough for a game each game day.
